- Install the app: search “Seoul Bike Ttallengi” on Google Play or the App Store and install
- Choose the appropriate member, non-member or foreign-visitor purchase route shown in the official app; card and identity requirements differ. Do not assume every overseas card works through every signup route.
- Find a station: open the app map and check the nearest station and remaining bikes
- Rent: enter the bike number or scan the QR code to unlock
- Ride: follow bike lanes and safety rules while you ride
- Return: place the bike at the nearest station, lock it, and confirm return in the app

- Wear a helmet: the Road Traffic Act requires bicycle riders to wear protective headgear. Lack of a bicycle-specific fine does not make wearing one optional under the law.

- Use designated bicycle routes and obey signs. Ordinary sidewalk riding is not generally permitted except statutory exceptions; dismount and walk on pedestrian-only sections.
- Return to official stations: leaving the bike anywhere may result in fines
- Temporary lock feature: use the app’s “temporary lock” when making short stops
For shared scooters, confirm the current operator map, licence verification, payment method, parking rules and total fare in the app. Service areas and pricing change, so old price comparisons can be misleading.

Lime’s current official location list does not list Korean cities. Do not plan a Seoul ride on the assumption that an overseas Lime account provides local scooters; verify an operator actually serves your route.
In Korea, electric kickboards are classified as Personal Mobility (PM) devices and the following rules apply (Road Traffic Act, as of 2023).
- License required: a moped license or higher is mandatory (riding without a license is fined)
- Helmet mandatory: 20,000 KRW fine for not wearing one
- No two riders: single rider only
- Use bike lanes: where bike lanes are absent, use the right edge of the road
- No sidewalk riding: violations result in fines
Foreign-card acceptance and identity checks vary by operator. Confirm them before relying on a scooter journey, and have an alternative way home.
